PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY: POST-PANDEMIC ONLINE CHURCH
THE DOCK CHURCH: PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY: POST-PANDEMIC ONLINE CHURCH
by Bishop Brian Keith Williams
Acts 20:20 “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house.” “THE CHURCH WILL FOREVER CHANGE!”
Change is inevitable, but not inexplicable. Change is imminent and immediate. The change outside must be met by change inside. Change comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable. Change comes, whether we’re ready or not. Ready or Not, here comes change. We change clothes. We change clocks. We change jobs. We change our ways. A 2020 CHANGE HAS COME! Malachi said “God changes not.” James said “there’s no shadow of turning with Him.” Soo True. God changes not, “who He is.” But, He changes, “How he deals.” He leads by a cloud, then an Ark, then by His spirit. He changes times and seasons. He changes His Church. He revisits the old. He revives the new. HE LOVES THE CHURCH. WE DO TOO. The Church is God’s Idea. He even called the nation of Israel, “The Church in the Wilderness.” The Greeks called it “the Ekklesia.” Meaning, “called out to the Gates.” The Gates of a city were where the City Elders met and made decisions. The Church is known by many names. The Bride of Christ. The House of God. The Pillar and Ground of the Truth. The City of God. Etc. The ideal Church is a covenantal community of Christ-Centered individuals joined by God’s planting and Their choosing. “God sets the solitary in families.” He says, “gather my people, those who’ve made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” He commands that we “forsake not the assembling of ourselves together, but even so much the more as we see the day (last days) approaching.” The question becomes: What is a Gathering? What is an Assembly? A Gathering is “people getting together.” An Assembly is “getting together for a specified purpose.”
The question becomes, “what is the purpose?”
The purpose is to fellowship; to be connected with likeminded believers;
